Plain versions of the usual things. Reading the site means accepting them.

What the articles are

Plural synthesises reporting that other newsrooms have already published. It does not report, does not conduct interviews, and does not independently verify the factual claims made in the accounts it draws on. Each article says this at its foot, and lists every source with a link, so that a claim can be traced to the publication that made it.

Where an article describes what an account holds, that is a description of that publication’s framing and not an assertion by us that it is correct.

Accuracy, and the absence of a warranty

The site is provided as it is. We take considerable care, and we still make mistakes. No warranty is given that an article is complete, current or free of error, and nothing here is legal, financial, medical or professional advice. Decisions you take after reading are yours.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from use of the site, from reliance on anything in it, or from the content of any site we link to.

Corrections

Errors are corrected rather than quietly edited. A correction is appended to the article with the original wording preserved and recorded in the public corrections log. An article withdrawn for a serious reason is marked as withdrawn rather than removed without trace. Write to [email protected] if something is wrong.

Copyright

The synthesis, the layer structure, the editorial labels and the site itself belong to Plural. Quotations and material drawn from the listed sources remain the property of those publishers and are used for reporting and commentary.

You are welcome to read, print and link to any article, and to quote a short passage with attribution and a link. Republishing an article in full, using it to train a model, or extracting the site in bulk by automated means is not permitted without written consent.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
