This Privacy Policy describes how Plural (plural.co.in) collects, uses, and protects personal data. Plural is operated by Banat Singh (banat.singh@plural.co.in), an individual proprietor based in India. We act as a Data Fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP Act) and as a Controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.
Information you provide: email address and topic interests (waitlist); email address and message contents (correspondence); submission contents (corrections and challenges).
Automatically collected: IP address (anonymised before storage where feasible); browser type, OS, device; pages visited, time on page, navigation paths; referring URL; approximate country/city from IP. We do not use advertising trackers, run behavioural advertising, share data with ad networks, or use Google Analytics or social media pixels.
To operate and maintain the Service; to understand usage through aggregated analysis; to communicate with you; and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.
Under the DPDP Act: consent (voluntary submissions); legitimate uses under Section 7 (operation and legal compliance). Under the GDPR where applicable: consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for analytics and waitlist; legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)) for security and aggregated usage analysis.
Vercel Inc. (United States) — hosting infrastructure. Plausible Analytics (European Union) — privacy-respecting, cookie-less aggregated analytics that do not identify individual users. Google Workspace (United States) — inbox correspondence. Each provider is contractually required to process data only on our instructions.
Retention: waitlist emails — until removal request; email correspondence — up to three years; server logs — up to 90 days; analytics data — aggregated form indefinitely.
We do not require login or session cookies for ordinary reading. Our cookie consent banner stores your preference in localStorage as "plural-cookie-pref". You may clear cookies and local storage through your browser at any time.
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to access, correction, erasure, grievance redressal, and nomination. Under GDPR where applicable: all of the above plus data portability and right to object. We use HTTPS/TLS for all transmissions. The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
